Well the award for most cowardly, boot-lickingest academic society has squarely gone to the American Society of Microbiology, who has taken down features of various non-white scientists. Ok but the doctors and nurses not wearing masks is so real. I’m multiply disabled & trans, I have about 9 diff drs (just added a new 1 today!). Not one person in any of the offices I visit wears a mask. My psych dr asks if I want her to sometimes when she sees my mask, but I mostly see her remotely

Since the election, masks flew off for overt racists.

But I have also noticed an uptick in emboldened behavior from even people who consider themselves “white allies.

The ones that consider themselves “good white people,” blue bracelet-ers, “not all white people-ers,” and progressive whites.
