Film lover - horror, exploitation, action, pretty much anything. But genre is my home.
Here for fun vibes about movies and shit, not much else.
Even at its worst, a STAR WARS film is STAR WARS, man. Y'know? Even my least favorite movie of the franchise has aspects in it I adore & that make me go "Gosh, I do love STAR WARS."

Its truuuue. I'm only half being Silly Online with this, lol. Tokusatsu in general tends to have this effect on me, but with the Big G, its special.

Bresson good.
Often debated on what "Bressonian" style even is. Some find him stark or calculated. I would describe him as more "nakedly economic" if that makes sense. He's a frank observor, but never too removed from the humanity of what he captures.

As the in-universe bleakness reaches its zenith...everyone just gets weirder and hornier living in such a cosmic hellscape. I think the tone of Resurrection is a natural evolution of Alien 3's oppressive tragedy.

Running Man ain't terrible. It actually meets the moment in pretty prescient ways. But it's less than the sum of its parts overall imo.

To be fair Scott Pilgrim in general was never my bag - comic or film.

I consider myself a "style IS substance" guy. But I bounce off everything not the Cornetto Trilogy pretty hard. Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim, Soho, now Running Man...all seem to miss something substantial under all of Wright's formal excellence.
