Have you ever published a story, poem or essay online, only to have the venue fold and your work disappear?

It's not fun, but there is a good technique that can help you out.

I put together a quick video that shows how to find a saved copy of your work: youtu.be/v_Pym4yd528

One of the fucked up things abt the spam texts I receive on my work phone every day is that 70% of them are addressed to “Patricia” the name of my grandmother who died at 59 and who was an influence on naming my son Patrick.

Sometimes when I'm writing several short sentences in a row, I feel like mindset involved is fear-driven and concussed. Like maybe I've been bludgeoned in the face with a shovel repeatedly, and through that bludgeoning have achieved the mindset that favors these short sentences.

Impossibly, I've made my selections for The Best Weird Fiction of the Year. Will announce the contents soon. Here, though, are 20 other stories I found quite notable, to be acknowledged in the book.

Pet Sounds is one of the most exciting and surprising first-listen albums I've ever encountered. When people talk about albums with supposed objectivity, I'm always uncomfortable and feel like first-listen experience, tied to the time you listened to it, is one of the only real ways to assess.
