Canada has a formal private sponsorship system and you can't request an ethnic group at all, unless it is specifically your own (Syrians can sponsor Syrians, for example). If you don't want a [insert ethnicity/religion here] relying upon you, then take a hike.

Anyone with an ounce of economic sense has known there isn't an economic case even in 2015. It's super depressing to have politicians of all stripes still betting on oil prices when we could be doing 1000 other things.

I work for a uni now, non-academic, and the staff newsletter is always chock full of AI workshops and seminars. Its craaazy. I'm so glad my unit isn't going near it.

I had a prof this last year who did a first pass at grading with AI. Why am I trying if he isn't? We were expected to use AI for assignments and had to include a reflection on why/how we used it in every assignment. I refused and he actually called me out over it. The man's brain was mush.
