I have never seen anything like this in NYC. 5th Ave covered from 42nd St well to the 20s. Nobody prepared for this volume. Volunteers are holding the traffic on all the side streets. No police in sight. #handsoff

Letter of the law only applies to one team.
O'Brien should be booked for blocking Raya there which would have been a second yellow card. Referee not even looking at the play.

Genuinely, this isn’t a dig at Spurs…but, the difference in attitude between Arteta and Ange regarding injuries is stark. Ange gives his players reasons to fail. Arteta challenges his to rise above adversity. He may not succeed, and will be interesting to see how Arteta reacts after a defeat…

Nwaneri came on the 84th minute.

He had more touches than Haaland.

Arsenal have won only 23 of 51 matches refereed by Michael Oliver.

When the PL and PGMOL see a club diverge THAT much from their normal level when one referee is in charge, questions have to be asked.

And Oliver has shown Arsenal 7 red cards: City + Liverpool 1 combined.

At this point, serious questions have to be asked about Michael Oliver. I'll start: is he biased, corrupt or just utterly incompetent?

And if PGMOL attempt to defend that decision, they might as well declare that they're not fit for purpose.

Jordan Pickford is genuinely dreadful.

We’re fortunate we’re in an age of excellent independent content creation, so easy to just disengage from disingenuous tabloids, Sky “punditry”, TalkSPORT nonsense etc. Feel much better having taken the conscious decision to blank all that crap out.

All this clickbait shite about Arteta blaming the ball. Makes you realise just how much excellent, properly analytical, balanced content there is away from the MSM. Happy to pay for it, eg. @arseblog.com @arsenalvisionpodcast.com and club neutral such as @mixedknuts.bsky.social plus many others.

If Liverpool had scored 2 they wouldn't need to complain about referee decisions changing the game completely

That's how it works, right?

This referee is absolutely desperate to be the centre of attention.

Don’t know who the “experts” currently on 5Live are, but their ignorance towards PSR in football is staggeringly, embarrassingly dreadful. Arguing NUFC should be allowed to spend what they want to make things more competitive.

Seriously?

Is Son’s current malaise a player struggling to get match sharp after injury (which should come), the effect of the age curve, or just not the same player without Kane?

What a way for your hopes of a big Dunk clean sheet to go up in smoke. 🤦‍♂️

How is that positive for the experience of watching elite level sport?

VAR is killing football by killing the experience of the spectator.

Fans stood up against money men proposing a European Super League, and won. I would love to see the same co-ordinated fan opposition to VAR.

Close to 5 mins to decide if someone is offside by fact or not. Even if Archer was, it was by so little a distance as to mean he wasn't gaining any sort of advantage. The spirit of the offside law hadn't been breached.

They then decide Archer is onside, but rule the goal out on a subjective call!

Football may be a business, but fundamentally it is entertainment. If it wasn't, folk wouldn't pay to attend matches.

So when are we (fans) going to take a stand against what VAR is doing to the game? It drains excitement, spontaneity, and joy from the game. The essence of what sport should be.

Only kidding.

I think.

Fairly relaxed watching the Arsenal tonight, but McManaman’s squealing has got me to the point where I’d rather have root canal with no anaesthetic than listen to him any more.
November 26, 2024 at 9:36 PM
Simon Hooper, like so many referees, is on that first half showing a horrible mix of incompetence and possessing absolutely no feel for the game.

Four bookings, not a bad tackle all half, two (Jorginho and Aina) not even fouls. A 3 minute VAR check for offside thrown into the mix...deary me...🙄
