FWIW, she had a significant local tailwind of running against the hated Sarah Palin. Palin *quit* being Alaska governor 2.5 years into her term, 6 months after losing as VP in the 2008 Presidential race, so she could be a TV personality.
Election results for Mary Peltola's initial win in August 2022. She received 51.5%, defeating Sarah Palin's 48.5%. Note that Alaska has ranked choice voting, and the votes of the 3rd place candidate, a republican, transferred 50% to Palin, 20% to no-one, 30% to Peltola. Palin was Governor of Alaska from December 2006 to July 2009, which is 2.5 years of a 4 year term. An excerpt from the Sarah Palin Wikipedia page, section titled: Resignation On July 3, 2009, Palin announced that she would not run for reelection in the 2010 Alaska gubernatorial election and would resign before the end of the month. Palin stated that since August 2008, both she and the state had been spending an "insane" amount of time and money ($2.5 million) responding to "opposition research", 150 FOIA requests and 15 "frivolous" legal ethics complaints filed by "political operatives" against her. She said her resignation was also influenced by her desire not to be a lame duck. Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell said that Palin's decision to resign was driven by the high cost of legal fees against ethics investigations; Palin and her husband Todd personally incurred more than $500,000 in legal expenses. Parnell became governor on July 26, 2009, in an inaugural ceremony in Fairbanks upon Palin's resignation taking effect. In December 2010, new rules governing Alaska executive branch ethics, stemming from Palin's tenure as governor, took effect. "These include allowing for the state to pay legal costs for officials cleared of ethics violations; (and) allowing for a family member of the governor or lieutenant governor to travel at state cost in certain circumstances ..."

What prices do you expect? I tried comparing prices for a Mon-Tue trip, and I'm seeing ~$130 for the train, and $280 for a flight.

OED's first confirmed use of "transsexual" was in 1907, which is *118 years ago*.

I hate how the worksheets still have to be done by hand. I'd love for FFFF to check my worksheets.

(I'd also appreciate a more visible difference between input and calculation fields than coloring the text #00764E vs #0077b3)

That's about double the actual inflation. $250 in 2017 is $325 in 2025. You need to go back to 2006 for it to be $400.

JFYI, Finland and Sweden have finalized joining NATO. Sweden joined on March 7, 2024.

(Sweden and Finland both applied in May 2022, but Turkey delayed Sweden's application by a year.)
