Crazy cat lady, archaeologist-curator, knitter; pronouns she/her
As a Wisconsinite- this is the WI I grew up in. Sacrilegious with that idiot in a cheesehead.
Elon Musk: pours tens of millions into a race that has never seen even a fraction of that much money. bribes multiple voters with $1 million checks to vote. offers any Wisconsin voter who proves they voted $50. wears a fucking cheesehead

Wisconsin: votes against his candidate by historic margins

Tan’s visibility day 🏳️‍⚧️ - Trans folks have always been around and part of our families like one of my grandparents who transitioned in the 1950s. And yes I knew how she was related to me at a young age. I didn’t care- she had horses & books. Also she got chickadees to eat out of your hand

I work at a archaeological collection facility and just determined that the collection has almost tripled in size PLUS I have fully documented all artifacts in every box (into a single db) plus most docs and photos in 11yrs. Should note some of those years I had part time help

One thing I don’t like seeing is well so so must have voted for this so no sympathy. I get it but also don’t jump to conclusions? Cause this veteran did NOT vote for the orange stain-muskrat administration. (This particular veteran is a colleague of mine)
🚨Please listen to this U.S. Navy Veteran who had the rug pulled out from under him right after moving for his job:

"On February 13th, in the middle of the night, I received an email with no text and only an attachment stating that I had been terminated."

Reganomics caused my parents to never vote GOP again… it took years for my parents to be stable. We did the reduced lunch program, government cheese, milk powder, ya know poor people shit. Also why dad started a garden that became an obsession
So now Fox Business is preparing their viewers for "a bit of temporary pain" amid Trump-Musk's DOGE cuts, saying that "people forget that when [Ronald Reagan] came into office in 1981, he slashed federal head count and put the economy back into the double dip recession of 1980 and 1981."

Day 11 of #fiberuarychallenge “texture”- Decided this shawl will become a representation of the “ugly holiday sweater” but shawl. Plan on adding stuff to the green area and the solid red area- that part has not been planned out quite yet
February 12, 2025 at 12:20 AM
Day 10 of #fiberuarychallenge “mood board”- it’s cold damp dreary grey out. Not even pretty white snow. Fits one of a major moods these days (the other is rage & spite)

#fiberuarychallenge day 3 “Monday morning “
Like all mornings- it’s mostly driven by cats, they need food, litter cleaned, toy fish tossed (taters), pets in the sink (spuds), demands for lap time (cinder)
February 3, 2025 at 2:29 PM
#fiberuarychallang day 2 “looking forward “ - well that’s a hard one as of late isn’t it? But I’ll go with having a full set of teeth again? Had to have one front removed due to bone disintegration (car accident when I was kid plus bad genetics) so going the implant route
February 3, 2025 at 12:28 PM
Decided to do #fiberuary here started by Creative Cici (via Instagram). Day one is “hi”
I describe myself as a spinster cat lady. I balance between liking outside and being a hermit. Knitting helps w the hermiting. Day job as my handle states, I’m a curator of archaeological materials

Another reason why AOC is great, also when she’s in DC, should wander down to Fibre Space in Alexandria.
Thank you, I’ll have plenty! I used to crochet a long time ago and just started knitting a few weeks ago.

It’s been a great way to stop doomscrolling and reflect 😌

I’ve finished a Sophie scarf and have started a sweater. (I’m waiting for more purple yarn & am casting on a new cardigan as I wait 🫣)

What I did today- helped at a historic black cemetery. Had been neglected for years but slowly been peeling back years of overgrowth. Local university has been mapping found graves. Should note only couple hours south of DC- was not that cold.

I’m back to how I felt about the government 20+ years ago pre Iraq invasion. Didn’t see the usefulness of protests etc. Fed govt doesn’t give a shit bout us, cept now it’s even worse. I’m not going to do nothing of course but it’ll be local/community based.
And cats as pallet cleanser

Quietness during and after a snowfall is something I always appreciate. It’s a distinct quiet.
January 11, 2025 at 12:47 PM
So decided to be winter in central VA. Last two winters haven’t been wintery and this Wisconsinite didn’t mind. It’s cold and possibly more snow this wknd.
