Yeah, I was going to say maybe to go easy on them because I thought their lack of response was them reflecting on their behaviour but NOPE.

If you're going to post "so walk":

1. I thought of that.

2. I have a chronic illness that makes walking that far difficult, if not entirely unmanageable.

3. Remember this next time you see someone doing something "lazy" and do better than assuming things you don't know about them and their life.

Then why assume I hadn't considered walking. I even say as much in other replies.

I have a chronic illness that makes walking this distance extremely difficult and sometimes completely unmanageable.

There's a consultation so I'm going to complete that. I'm not sure if there are any meetings - I'll look into it.

I'm sorry to hear yours are so pricy too - bus users so often get the shitty end of the stick.

Yeah, I'd usually walk but I can't walk very far at the moment due to chronic illness so I'm almost entirely dependent on public transport but also don't qualify for a disability concession so it costs me £6/7 to get pretty much anywhere that isn't on a direct bus route and back.

I'm going to answer their consultation but I don't know how interested they'll be.

Nope. Flat rate singles or day tickets. Which also means that if I stay over it costs £8 - a 100% increase on what it costs now.
£2 per bus or £5.70 for a day ticket. And the day ticket doesn't include all local buses so if the bus I need is delayed or cancelled and there's a bus going where I want but it's the wrong operator, I can wait or stump up another £2. Or it's £6.80 for a day ticket that includes all operators.

The scheme definitely needs work - it's inaccessible to very low earners & helps high earners more than low earners. I've heard it's also a pain in the ass for bike shops. But all but the loosest restrictions on the type or budget of the bike will deter people from using the scheme as intended.
