Myth is the Minotaur
#HouseOfLeaves
an illustration inspired by House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. it depicts the minotaur at the center of the labyrinth, surrounded by bones and blood. he's sitting on his haunches, his legs are that of a bull from the knees down. there are various quotes from the book scattered around him, such as: "this is not for you." "Navidson is not Minos. He did not build the labyrinth. He only discovered it. The father of that place - be it a Minos, Daedalus, St. Mark's -god, another father who swore "Begone! Relieve-me from the sight of your detested form", a whole paternal line here following a tradition of deaf sons." "Love the lion!" "Love the lion." But Love alone does not make yeu Androcles. And for your stupidity your head's crushed like a grape in its jaws." "Be careful. Beware" " Picture that. We report: November emerges in the sunshine, almost too bright to believe. Through the curtains, the light had that golden glow of a low autumn sun. We begin to see some brown among the trees that have not been shaken out by the wind. The cackle of a jay follows us on our walk.
