Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

Those eyes! My heart squeezes when I think of her terror and loss - Nothing anyone should have to experience let alone at 5 years old.

I dreamt about her last night.
NEW: The young girl seen stumbling through the flames of her school building in Gaza did survive. But her siblings & mother are dead.

"I walked through the fire all by myself. The rubble fell on them.

"I want to see my sisters, to be with them, but they're dead.“

As Trump rejects the rule of law, the spirit & specifics of Magna Carta*, while also trying to subjugate Harvard, that self same university goes and discovers an actual Magna Carta?

This is a terrible terrible destructive decision.
These sorts of long running research programmes take decades to build and their insights accumulate over decades too - the longer they run, the more valuable they become.

This is knowledge vandalism. Nothing new and shiny can replace it.
Well the NIH has cancelled the Women's Health Initiative, the largest study of women in history

It has been running continuously since 1991 and has provided massive key knowledge about diseases in women

Unreal

I mean fine, but it’s only because of France that the United States exists.
"It's only because of the United States of America that the French aren't speaking German right now."

Was just disinvited by @bbc5live.bsky.social to a discussion of Brexit 5 years on- on the entirely reasonable/correct grounds that I know what I am talking about and would give an expert, objective view.

What they actually wanted was a "hard Remainer" (to balance a know-nothing Brexiteer).

Hoping to reconnect with some of my Twitter follows on BlueSky.
I've stayed too long on Twitter not wanting to lose touch with old colleagues and networks but I feel like staying now is to risk being complicit in whatever is Musk's 'agenda'.
