Retired and enjoying life! I adore my wife. She is the best person I have met in my life. So it is a beautiful woman. I'm 60, and I love my life so much. 🇨🇦

Will this be enough to open the eyes of the cult or will they have to be penniless on the street living under a bridge before they realize they've been played?

How much is your attention worth? “The Sirens’ Call,” @chrislhayes.bsky.social argues that attention is the most valuable resource in the world, and “the very thing that makes us human,” but increasingly, Hayes says “We don’t feel we have control” over what we spend our time on. #Velshi
‘We don’t feel we have control’: How social media algorithms have warped our attention spans
“The Siren’s Call,” the new book by Chris Hayes, explores how the world’s biggest companies are buying and selling our attention, and in the process harming our ability to converse with each other and find consensus. “And that ability we have to have our attention taken away from us without us knowing it, which is a sort of evolutionary necessity, is also the foundation upon which this entire form of attention capitalism is being built, such that we're constantly being pulled by things that we don't feel we have control over to pay attention to.”

This is a bigger issue than people realize. Not just jobs lost. But their families losing benefits. Landlords losing tenants. Cities and towns losing revenue. This is how recessions start

Ready Fire Aim is no way to govern.
More accurate, fewer words;

"There are plenty of contractors going under".

A friend furloughed 75% of staff (furlough w/paying for health insurance for three months), 50% exec pay cut, 25% rest of staff to keep as many people w/salary.

PS: Wasn't 18F a government office, not a contractor.
