had a Jude Law year, where a lot of stuff I wrote over the course of 15 years came out all at once

I would be honored to be considered for awards, especially for my first novel; a nomination would bring eyes to a book I'm proud of, from a *tiny* press with no marketing budget

Relatedly, I don't know who this anonymous Amazon reviewer is, but the line "I now know how a fly feels when it gets eaten by a chameleon" is outstanding poetry. Anonymous reviewer, please submit some poems to Strange Horizons if you're not already doing that.

Here it is: Mary Poppins if it were directed by Bob Fosse.

My head looks improbably large due to foreshortening; it's difficult to get an entire outfit into frame with any personality. I have increasing sympathy for fashion magazines using photoshop to reshape bodies in post.

makeup (and hat) test for my halloween costume, which is George Banks (the Dad) in Mary Poppins If He Was Played By the Dancer Ann Reinking (1980s) Instead of By Actor David Tomlinson (1960s)

I'm going to be normie and say it's correct that Bob Dylan is the only lyricist who has won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Much love to Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Jackson Browne, Fiona Apple, and Colin Meloy.

Here's a photo of me from within the past week, looking emphatically bisexual (as always) #bisexualvisibilityday

From a historical essay I wrote in 2015 about Gabriele d’Annunzio, "The Sex-Obsessed Poet Who Invented Fascism". The violence is transcendence. Fear is transcendence. Witness him! www.atlasobscura.com/articles/the...

My writing buddy @dereknason.bsky.social sent me this screencap of a weird search engine pricing glitch. But is it a glitch? Would you perhaps like to pay forty million US dollars for my book (plus shipping)? Are we even friends at all?

They aren't emotional quotes, they are POEMS.

Stop scrolling and post two characters who bring you joy and happiness!

Look, I love what I love, and that's people who come up with temporary clever workarounds on doomed ships.

Sewed myself a tiny flag I can carry in my wallet and pop onto a pen or pencil if I encounter a flag-waving occasion

QRP with your winged art!

The wyvern is an impromptu sketch to experiment with stippling for stone that's soft and crumbly. The orange butterfly is freestyle embroidery to patch a big hole in jeans that already had a machine-embroidered butterfly.

This is a poem I wrote in 2004, a little more than a year into the Iraq War, a little more than two years into The Patriot Act, and about three years past the Roberts Court legitimizing a stolen election along party lines. First published in Death List Five, issue 5 (2006).

Here's my Readercon schedule (Burlington, MA, July 18-20). Assuming the shipment gets here in time, it will be the first chance you have to lay your eyes on an actual physical copy of my book Nothing in the Basement.

you know who else rushed into an ill-advised attack on low income people because he wanted to deliver a big victory by July 4?

People have asked whether the soil battery in "The Electric Ant" is based on real science. The answer is yes. Research in this area has been going on for more than a decade. The sand battery that just joined the electric grid in Finland is one example. (thread)

It was such a relief to have an explanation of how to remove Gemini nonsense from my cell phone. And by the way here's a relevant quote from my new story in @tractorbeamearth.bsky.social . It's not even the point of the story; that's how ubiquity works.
