The enforcement of the death penalty for Pakhshan Azizi, a Kurdish social worker from Eastern Kurdistan (northwest Iran) who has spent many years assisting women in Syria and Iraq during the war against ISIS, is imminent. The Iranian Supreme Court has rejected all evidence proving that Pakhshan’s👇🏽

#Kobane is under imminent threat of a Turkish military invasion. Turkey once used #ISIS to try to conquer Kobane in 2014, which failed. Now, it uses its Islamist militias known as the #SNA.👇

Today marks the fall of another dictator in the Middle East. The Syrian state, particularly the Ba’ath regime, has suppressed non-Arab, non-Shia communities since the late 1940s. For example, in 1962, 120,000 Kurds were stripped of their citizenship, a number that grew to 300,000 by 2010. 🧵👇
