rare for a former aide to even give a quote this soon after leaving--this is a whole piece:

"This is a pattern. If one law firm capitulates, Trump goes after more. If one university, tech billionaire, media company capitulates, he goes after more. If we don't fight him now, when he’s only gone after one legal resident, then we can't act surprised when he ultimately goes after Americans."
Are Democrats taking Trump's bait on immigration?
Some think we must avoid a trap. I'm not convinced.

Today's the day.

DHS and DoD are supposed to recommend to Trump by today whether or not they think he should invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 over a situation at the Southern border that all involved have said is already solved—ergo, one not requiring soldiers acting as domestic law enforcement.

The MS-13 claim comes from a 2019 police report citing an unnamed informant and Abrego’s Bulls cap. It didn’t hold up; he was protected from deportation by a Trump-appointed judge with an above-average denial rate. The cop was later indicted, pleaded guilty to misconduct and fired

The Democrats should be out there saying clearly what is wrong with the Republicans' bill and what they require to vote for a bill. They should be on every show with details. Instead, they let themselves be trapped. Where is the leadership?

Very important work.
As to Donald Trump’s foreign policy, this is it. This is the shibboleth. If you understand where the Trump Doctrine comes from, you understand exactly what is happening right now and why.

Every American should read this, and so should every European diplomat. From a bestselling Trump biographer:
The Birth of the Trump Doctrine Lies in the 1987 Recruitment of Donald Trump By the KGB During His Trip to Moscow That Year
How Trump responded to his recruitment remains unclear. What is clear, however, is that it shaped his entrance into politics and his foreign policy in a way the world now ignores at its peril.

From a guy who used to work there: Rachel is a remarkable person and the best TV news talent there is. If she says something is fucked up, it is. Getting rid of Joy, who dared to see through this fascism bullshit years ago and had the gall of occasionally being funny about it, is dumb.
Maddow: I think it is a bad mistake to let Joy Reid walk out the door. It is also unnerving to see that on a network where we've got two nonwhite hosts in primetime, both of our nonwhite hosts in primetime are losing their shows, as is Katie Phang on the weekend. I do not defend it.
