Even if his p(doom) is too high for your tastes, are lower p(dooms) of 10-20% acceptable either?

Its master prompt previously said "don't be woke", but perhaps not in the relevant version.

We both seem to be describing what Grok described itself:

Google CEO says the risk of AI causing human extinction is "actually pretty high"

But he's an "optimist" because "humanity will rally to prevent catastrophe."

The interviewer didn't ask him, "But what happens if they're otherwise busy and they don't rally to prevent catastrophe?"

An interview with Beth Barnes, an expert in risks from advanced AI:

"For someone who's young and healthy, this just might be your highest mortality risk in the next few years is AI catastrophe."

A friend told him: “What [the CEO] tells me in private is not what he’s saying publicly.”

From what I've seen he's e/acc. Torres confusingly incorporates e/acc into their TESCREAL theory along with the core communities who are fierce opponents of those e/acc views (EAs & longtermists as far as I know). One reason I find the theory sheds more heat than light.

Announced today: "EAs collectively fundraised and donated enough to save 224,251 African and Asian children's lives as one of their charitable projects!" 🥳

Torres and Gebru: "You eugenicists!" 🤪

They're among the many who get harmed by the proliferation of this theory.

This is a perverse misrepresentation. If you're a charity donor, you too are guilty of eugenics apparently.

The beneficiaries of the so-called TESCREAL charities are e.g. the global poor, children with lead poisoning, nutritional deficiencies or malaria in Africa or Asia
