exactly. empathy has a very broad definition- I would argue that the additional focus and work many autistic people do to interpret their surroundings and incoming signals is a form of "empathy" many Neurotypical people actually lack
folks, autistic people feel empathy. they often don't display emotion in a neurotypical way, which means people often *refuse to empathize with them.*
