The Halgai is a seedkin that means "scrub that walks". Long have the Xaela tribes of the Azim Steppe believed the undeniably verdant seedkin to be a type of flora. However, Sharlayan naturalists believe they are elemental phurbles over-aspected to wind.

In the past, the peoples of the Azim Steppe initially developed techniques to ride on the backs of their own domesticated beasts: horses. Through use of bridles, reigns and saddles, riding became easier. These techniques eventually made their way westward for chocobo use.

The 55 year old Rostnsthal is a Sea Wolf Roegadyn who was once better known as Sthalmann Sthalmannsyn. As a former Knight of the Barracuda, he has since become a pirate and taken upon the name Rostnsthal which means "rusty steel" in the old Roegadyn tongue.
