A/Prof Dominique Potvin presented her work on Greater Glider diet today @iccb2025.bsky.social via analysing their 💩. They ate 18 species of eucalyptus and casuarina! ‘It’s 2025 and we still don’t know basic biology of large, charismatic Australian species’. #ICCB2025

He put solar thermal panels on the White House in 1979.
1986 Ronald Reagan put them down.
This gives you an idea where we could have been today if only we had more smart people taking care of our livelihood.
Rest in peace, Jimmy Carter.

How the fuck do we live in a country where there’s been far more outrage this week about ONE mistreated baby wombat than there’s been about FOURTEEN women murdered just since the start of 2025?

Hi all, I made a 90s accessible video compiling the case to #SaveWoogarooForest (>420ha remnant forest) from destruction (to build 1800 homes). Extremely bad plan from enviro and endangered species perspective, but also regarding liveability. Pls watch and share widely, thx 🙏

This stunning palm cockatoo (Probosciger aterrimus macgillivrayi) is just one of the more than 2000 listed threatened species in Australia.

Alarmingly, this list continues to grow, rapidly.

To learn more about the amazing palm cockatoo and its conservation check out @cnzdenek.bsky.social's work!
Australian governments are failing to conserve biodiversity, meaning their extraordinary values are being lost and global conservation targets will likely fail. The next federal government must do better.

So, Fire Forest Management Victoria. Terrible, or what?

Back in May, FFMV Loddon-Mallee thought setting fire to individual hollow-bearing trees near Heathcote was a worthwhile activity, or at least a fun one.

This thread is about another one of its stuff-ups.
