My understanding is that people really wanted a new Marvel vs Capcom and Tokon isn’t. It’s a Marvel tag fighter but it plays quite differently.

Oh OK thanks for the update. Even the shooter sickos I know didn’t even know it was releasing on console before launch and Mat Piscatella said engagement was far lower on console when I asked. It probably picked up now that it’s in a prime spot on the console stores

I think Marathon’s biggest opportunity lies in capturing a console market for a more traditional extraction game. Arc is very PvE focused and for whatever reason has had very little traction on console while blowing up on PC

The Eurogamer review focuses on how the use of genAI is at odds with the game’s own theming which is a great way to frame it.

This is my stance on it as well. The games are cool, the team is talented, and if this is was the limit of how genAI is used in the industry I wouldn’t be happy with it but it’s far more tolerable than other plans. It’s just the lack of pushback and the potential to expand it that worries me
