Yeah. Not totally the same, but as a recovering burnout with SEVERE trauma brain, I can't get much past vignettes. I should really try some short stories...

I'm not sure it's really that, but I think he would have been happier if he bought 4chan instead of trying to make Twitter a more socially mainstream version of it.
But people who keep up the 4chan brain for any length of time are regularly not doing well. He can pull out, but he needs the likes.

Actually, here's the Intro to Story that goes into that. Later he says that whoever you're looking up to, you like them because they're different and unique. So why would you want to copy them or their process?

Oddly, I got a lot more out of Syd Field's "Screenplay" and "Story" by Robert McKee, but I came to published writing through filmmaking.
At any rate, those books taught me how to form structures and write natural dialogue while still encouraging me to find my own style.
