When teaching my kids to cook, I gave them two rules: 1) Always use too
much garlic and cumin and 2) There is no such thing as too much garlic or cumin.

Today, while making hummus, I discovered that there is such a thing as too much garlic.

I’m participating in today’s boycott, not because I believe that one day’s loss of income will affect any of these big companies in any significant way, but because I think it will show all us regular people that gosh, maybe we could reclaim some power if we work together.

4 hours of Zoom calls on Sunday staring at 1:30am, then another couple calls 3 hours later shredded me for the day. All the necessary coffee made it impossible to sleep afterwards.

I’m trying to stave off despair by noticing the glimmers. Today I did two loads of laundry and matched ALL the socks, my email inbox is back to zero, the furnace is keeping pace with the freezing weather, and fresh chili is bubbling on the stove.
