I have a wonderful way for them to reduce their CO2 emissions, stop chopping down trees. If they are really keen on tree felling, they could continue to chop them down and pellet them then turn them into biochar which they could use to improve the forest soils before replanting more trees.

This is perfect! thankyou. I wasn't trying to diminish the shituation we are in. I think it is not the current rate of accumulation that is the problem but the stupendous deviation from the norm. If we stopped emitting it today it's effect would be minimal in a few decades.

Does the change matter more than the difference from a historic 700ppm which might be a reasonable target to aim for. Is the warming effect proportional to the ppm? Line goes up is definitely bad.
