Immigration advocates fear the Trump administration is conducting family separations far from the border for the same reasons as before: to deter new immigrants from coming and to terrify those who are here into leaving.

What they did to this man is beyond any bounds of decency. This one case truly says it all about the entire GOP and Trump malevolence
Remarkable how brutal the ruling against Trump on Abrego Garcia truly is: It details flagrant and malicious abuses of power all throughout. Trump and Stephen Miller were testing their ability to spread lawless state terror. But the court held the line. 1/

To be fair, the justices are not technically wrong that the standard here, which the district court reviewed, was that if the gerrymandering was for partisan reasons, it's legal. It's only illegal if it was for race. But that allows the justices to just out & out say "THIS IS FOR PARTISAN REASONS!"
“Yes, yes, we can see all your ‘facts’ and all the adorable little ‘evidence,’ but you failed to consider that none of that matters if we all close our eyes and pretend the Texas GOP actually had pure motives here, you stupid little rubes.”
The dripping contempt the right wing SCOTUS majority holds for district judges is truly a sight to behold every time. When they deign to give actual reasons for their shadow docket holdings, it’s “look at the absolute idiots who keep getting everything wrong!”
