Just got an AWS Lambda working in Rust that gets website data, sends it to Claude for analysis and posts the results as Json to S3 all managed by GitHub pipelines and Terraform. I feel I have achieved peak buzzword driven development at this point 🤣 Also YAY!! 😃
So 2026 is basically going to have to be the year I properly learn Rust 🦀 Wish me luck.

Appears that attempting to stand still isn't an option. Looks like it's time for Rob 2.0 and all the work that entails.

Debugging AWS Lambda failures is an awful experience... It's probably something I am doing wrong with my setup but still... Time to go read some documentation and find a way to do it better.

I think the problem I am starting to experience with AI coding is that when it comes to changing something it takes far longer.

Since I reckon it takes about 2 rewrites to produce something production hardened, this is a bit of an issue.

Ages ago, when I was still a student, I taught myself Ruby on Rails for my senior thesis and fell in love. Fifteen years later, and I’ve used Rails at every job I’ve ever held in the tech industry. Fifteen years, and I still love Rails! But there’s something rotten at its core, and we share a name.

Well, looks like the Ruby community is blowing its own foot off this morning.

Chat Gippity is basically cannon at this point, right? Like always saying Claude with a French accent?

We use Zed to run our meetings, using our collaboration tooling. We organize our projects via Markdown in our channel notes.

Here, we are prioritizing work we are doing for Zed's official Windows support.

Doing machine learning using tokenizers for short sentences. Pretty interesting, much to my surprise.

Fucking hell America you are so broken and deluded, jeez. I don't think you're coming back from this if I'm quite honest.

Bit of tweaking of the Zyxel 5G antenna and getting just over 500Mbps download speed. Mental 🤣

Happy May 1st. The value of your labor belongs to you and the actions of the state are best understood as as a coordinated effort to distract you from this. The state fears an organized and unified proletariat like it fears death and rightly so. Power to the workers and power to the people

Have to shout out to Zyxel's very decent 5G mobile antenna/kit. Made my own life a bit difficult in places getting it working but 170Mbs download was worth it.

Terraform. The happy path only approach to infra management. When it goes wrong you're screwed.
