I would definitely not drive across the prairies with an EV. The 401 corridor from MTL-TOR lacks good coverage. Can't imagine driving through AB-MB having much at all.

Further to that point, travel with an EV remains fraught with anxiety for available charging. Not enough is done to require charging stations to be well maintained and have an adequate number of stations available at rest stops. Ontario's OnRoute locations have at best, 4 chargers.

Being an EV owner means at minimum, running 4 different apps on your phone for various charging station companies. Governments need to mandate a credit card reader for quick, easy payment for users. I have had to counsel my mother against getting an EV as I know this process would driver her mad.

It is however, a perfect metaphor for how gambling is ruining sports. It's not about choosing teams to be behind, it's about convincing yourself that ignoring everything but what affects your parlay is a good idea.
