The Drosophila board (affectionately called flyboard but not to be confused with en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flyboard) is seeking nominations from trainees to serve three-year terms starting with the fly meeting in Chicago 2026. There is one grad student and one postdoc representative to the board. 2/

I watched it a couple of days ago and it was absolutely harrowing. Especially because it has this structure where we keep expecting to see what happens next (I.e. whether the bomb hits, what the president decides), but instead we’re left with this ambiguous ending where…well, we KNOW.

I’m already in too deep, but this market really makes me think twice about where to steer trainees because
