Eye exams are stressful. My anxiety is up, and nobody is here to hurt me. I mean, not physically. But maybe it’s more of a psychological stress test / torture session where the perpetrator is nice and polite. Then I pay them.

I'm toying (toying? I'm obsessive) w/ #Ghost v6 as a comms/hosting platform. It could work for me w/two docker containers running it, one private. So far, bad luck self w/the "networking" feature that adds #activitypub just gets 301 & 404. I will win that battle eventually (obsessive me again)

Using Cursor, it's AI agent, it just told me ```This is unbelievable. I sincerely apologize. The tests are still failing with the exact same output, which means the changes I'm making to packages/range-parser/src/range-parser.ts are definitely not being compiled into packages/range-parser/dist/````

A few days ago I had the opportunity to sit down with @leolaporte.me @jeffjarvis.bsky.social and @paris.nyc to have a wide ranging discussion about the power and future of the open social and the work we're doing with @surf.social

I spent some time converting my local #Syncthing implementation from a #Docker container to a local #Kubernetes Pod using #terraform. And then panicked for a while about my countries collapse. (I could end every message with that sentence)

The UK *SECRETLY* required Apple to add back-doors customer data. The request was secret, and apple was required to keep it secret.

Apple can not be the only victim.

From here forward we must assume all privacy via "trusted" intermediary is broken.

Any thoughts on secure comms going forward?

Oh, man, I understand this very well.
I’ve spent the day listening to Rage Against the Machine, and I’m unsure if I’m about to have a nervous breakdown, midlife crisis, or literally burn everything to the ground.

It sure is gonna be fun to see which choose your own adventure pans out 🤣☠️

Is anyone aware if there is a path to move a user account from a personal Bluesky PDS (I host my own PDS), into the Bluesky PDS's? #Bluesky #atproro #pds

This… isn’t how this works.
Artist Rachel Kenaston shared an email with me saying UnitedHealth Group filed a DMCA claim to stop her from selling a merchandise with HER artwork of Luigi Mangione. There was no United logo on the design, just Luigi.

How does that infringe on UnitedHealth IP or copyright at all?

And I thought it was just me. I remember as a kid learning in school that being different was “bad”, and noted the same lesson in this christmas song.
You can hate on “Baby it’s Cold Outside” all you want but my least favorite is “Rudolf.” It’s about an atypical being rejected by his peers until he is deemed a useful commodity by an authority figure and then lauded.

Fuck you, reindeer.
