UK set for highest inflation in G7, OECD says.

Real average wage hardly moved since 2008. Profiteering is the main cause.

Start with controlling price of energy, water, rents. Even better nationalize energy and water, build social housing.
Inflation to surge and growth to drop in fresh economic blow to Reeves
With a difficult Labour conference to come next week followed by the autumn Budget, the OECD’s conclusions have come at a bad time for Rachel Reeves

🚅Want to end the Great British Train Robbery?

✍️It only takes 1 minute to sign our petition.

🤑The rolling stock companies have made £3.6 billion in dividends over the past decade.

Now's the perfect time to demand they take our trains into public ownership.
Petition: Take our trains into public ownership | We Own It
The government is taking railway operators into public ownership, but the trains themselves will remain in private hands. The government must take our trains into public ownership.

Keir Starmer-led Labour Govt is unpopular. Why?

It is following Tory or worse policies
Two-child benefit cap
Winter fuel payment cut
No change in income tax thresholds
No curb on profiteering
No end to water woes
Botched rail nationalisation

Must change policies
leftfootforward.org/2024/12/labo...
Labour’s drift to the right could risk Keir Starmer being a one-term prime minister
The government's honeymoon has been short lived.

In the week that MPs vote on assisted dying, please - please - can we all agree & act on the fact that the time to end the woeful underfunding of NHS palliative care is now?

If we truly cared about dying people, we wouldn’t neglect their final days.

Over to you, @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social

US experience of private equity controlled hospitals.

A pattern of profiteering, inadequate staffing, service cuts, diminished care.

Yet UK govt is handing hospitals, GP surgeries to private equity.

Say no to privatisation of the NHS.

BREAKING: It has been revealed that instead of paying for the King's coronation, we could have paid the wages of 2,057 nurses last year. I don't know about you, but I think it was worth sending nurses to foodbanks so the rich man could play fancy dress for the day x

Wow. Imagine the shock for the Daily Mail when it finds out Tory plans were for fines of £5k - later reduced to £3k - for each missed heat pump sale. What Ed Miliband has done is to reduce that to £500. As @torstenbell.bsky.social says today Headline should read “Miliband slashes Tory boiler tax”
