In 1981 Korea under Chun Doo-hwan's dictatorship, 22 people were arrested and tortured in a bunker for being in a bookclub with made up charges that were nothing but a blatant attempt to create terror for the citizenry in order to uphold and stabilize Chun's power grab.

Why invite youth to develop and present their own art exhibition if you're just going to censor it when it scares your sensibilities.
Teen artists portrayed their lives — some adults didn't want to see the full picture
"What is it like to be a teen right now?" Young artists explored that question for two different exhibitions of their work this summer. But on the National Mall, their work was deemed too political.

Isn't it? And that's not to speak anything of the amount of water used in the process. We can talk about the everyman's environmental footprint but its also important to note that over 60% of emissions come from corps. And that's not even counting the fact that society encourages unsustainability.

A big misconception about Greenland is that since it’s labeled a Danish colony, its residents are just a bunch of white dudes named Kristian—which is extremely harmful and inaccurate.

Tangential but I can't wait for the day we get rid of the link between a person's value and how much they work. Hustle culture is another capitalist trap. Automation would be a net positive if the billionaire class wasn't using it to enrich themselves at the expense of average people.

If you’re looking for a free way to support an author, did you know you can ask your library to stock a book you want to read that they don’t have yet? And usually it’s a very basic online form? Google your library name plus the words “request a title” or “suggest a title” to find yours.
