Talk to Kelsey, she's the U7/U9 Coordinator, I'm just the money person 😁

And so it begins 😂

Well, we did buy new nets two years ago but the problem is other ice users (both CHBA and others)use them because we don't have anywhere to secure them and/or because coaches don't put them away properly after practice 😁

Yes! Love hearing that, my husband and I are both on the association board. (Not everyone shares this opinion unfortunately.)

There's always room for improvement but I think things are better than when our kid started in U7.

Thank you for helping with the goalie dev't!

Our program is fantastic. We have a group of older refs who are very supportive of the newer ones.

They get a lot of evaluations and feedback through the season and we do a 4 person system, even with younger C level games.

It truly sets them up for success.

That's awesome and not for the faint of heart 😂

Seriously though a good start to that ambition is our ref program, I'd say we have one of the best in the country. Jason has a waitlist of kids every year who want to be officials.

It'll be chaotic but I'm sure they'll have fun!

Be nice to the refs, as the parent of one. 😊
He's working a couple of the games this morning.

Yes this was pre Covid - the teacher said students just "seemed younger" despite being the same age as the earlier cohort. Maybe parenting approaches changed in the 8 years? More helicopter parenting? I don't know.

My kids are 8 years apart in age but had the same grade 4 teacher. She was an excellent teacher, known to challenge her students.

She said she couldn't do the same level of work with the younger cohort. They needed much more guidance. And that was in 2017.

Exactly, roasted is where it's at. We've converted my mum to roasted from boiled thankfully.

Oh it leaked unfortunately. But damage isn't too bad. The wet dry vac did the trick.

That was my plan today, however... our hot water heater needed an urgent replacement. Woot.

Thankfully the Xmas decorations that are stored nearby are in Rubbermaid totes.

That's what I was just saying, it should be a different sound.

💯 I bus from Portland Hills to Morris St downtown.

My route hasn't changed for 7+ years but my commuting time has gone from 50 minutes door to door to over an hour on a good day. I blame the volume of traffic and the not great bus scheduling.

Kid2 had been at the mall, as he came in the door, he kept repeating "omg the Jays signed Dylan Cease" over and over... 😂
I think he was pretty happy too lol

Thanks, I can relax for a bit, then my kid has a hockey game at 10 pm woohoo

I hate driving, and had to drive to the valley and back today. Let me tell you it was not FUN.
November 26, 2025 at 9:09 PM
We had a diagonal run across our front yard, banking off the well curb, then down another slope to the back yard. My dad would go out at night with water buckets to ice it so we'd go even faster!

As an auditor it absolutely raises questions I would need to ask 😂
November 24, 2025 at 8:56 PM
Yes that's my favourite too. I also like the talking to a client one because the dark background is a nice contrast to the outfit. The hair looks natural to me (but I have a crazy mop myself lol)

Wish we had cat's eyes on our roads. Vancouver and Seattle both have them and they make such a difference for visibility.
November 23, 2025 at 1:53 AM
That's what we call guy shopping at our house. 😂
November 21, 2025 at 8:42 PM
I'm the Treasurer of our hockey association so I use it for our accounting, banking and any financial analysis/reporting. I also do photo editing, digital scrapbooking and Cricut crafting on it.
November 21, 2025 at 12:02 PM
💯 Add to that the poor road markings and its a recipe for disaster.
November 20, 2025 at 3:45 PM
The Dec one sold out in presales I think. We've got tickets to both games, I'm very much looking forward to it.

Kid2 and husband went to the rivalry series game last year and that was a full house too.
