Cats. Japan. Politics. Sarcasm. Usually very tired. She/her. London-based. Hooman to @parkinkatt.bsky.social.
Been dosing @parkinkatt.bsky.social with gabapentin since Saturday but didn't get back from the office until now; of course people two streets away are setting off a magnificent fireworks display from their front garden.

Pedestrian crossing basically out of use because of Lime bikes (that gap is not, in fact, a gap). Great work, cheers, etc

This skeet lives rent-free in my head

Had my Covid jab. 98 of your English pounds at Boots (but I did get an adorable plaster).

One little tidbit: the current Covid strain initially shows up like food poisoning (coming out either/both ends) - and you're contagious - before the standard coughing and sore throat appears.

Here we go, a couple of months later, chilling.

And this little fella, who looks similar, is a lil buddy that Parkin made in my old house. They liked to hang out and play with each other.

This is Otis, as seen on TV.

Oh I WONDER how this happened, couldn't be Parkin attempting to get into the cupboard, he's looking shocked and has run outside.

After two days of kicking off to the Royal Mail help account on Twitter (the only reason I keep an account), I got this email. I'm not holding my breath:

New DLR train in the wild! Shame TfL shows them as live trains on the indicator when they're still only on training runs though. (This one still had plastic on the seats.)

Came to Luxembourg. Had DIY hot chocolate. This is how I celebrate blood sugar no longer being at pre-diabetes levels.

This goblin waited until everyone went to bed before doing a massive stinky shit in his litter tray (I can smell it from here) then came to lie on me and prevent me clearing it up.

Good to know hopefully it's just a case of breaking the habit this time - an boi is pissed off this morning

Bought one of @gailmyerscough.co.uk's cushions as a gift and it is a beautiful, beautiful thing

I wrote to M&S about the stupid lingerie department story - confirms nobody offered a bra fitting to a teenage girl. The Telegraph and JK can (always) do one.

So @scousepie.bsky.social heard a reference to parkin in a Pulp song and I Googled it, which prompted the AI Overview to talk absolute shite.

In amongst the BBC's Jane Austen season is the late 90s adaptation of Persuasion with Amanda Root. It's one of the all-time great adaptations but tends to get forgotten. You won't regret digging it out of iPlayer.

Parkin, it is over 30 degrees

Usually I see these wild wisteria from a moving train, but there were wisteria trees growing out of the mountainside at Yamadera today.

I'm obsessed with BAKE CHEESE TART. They were a viral hit in Japan ~2017 and ever since I first tasted one of their melting whipped cheese tarts, it's been love. They rebranded and extended the range earlier this year and as I'm passing through Sendai station rn, I grabbed this marscapone bad boy.

Have swapped cities (Aizuwakamatsu for Morioka) and didn't really eat on the train, so I've found a 50s style cafe and have eaten this feast while listening to American 50s crooner records.
