NEW: The Pentagon told journalists it will require them to pledge they won’t gather any information — even unclassified — that hasn’t been expressly authorized for release, and will revoke the press credentials of those who do not obey. @washingtonpost.com

Happy Birthday to Dr Maurice Hilleman, born on this day in 1919 in Miles City! Have you heard of him? Even if you don’t know who he is, he has probably affected your life. Dr. Hilleman was one of the greatest scientists the world has known, but he did his work out of the limelight.

My wife does most of the deep cleaning around the house and I commission our fantasy football league. It’s just what works for our family.

My mom is back in Spokane this weekend for a family reunion - for her best friend from high school’s family. Which makes total sense if you know my mom.

For our anniversary my wife asked to watch Gone in 60 Seconds. She had a big Nic Cage crush as a child.

It’s either spring break, or daycare is closed - but you can’t close daycare and label it a break.

This month I’ve asked my wife if she would play the national anthem on the saxophone, and if she would do a fire building competition against a few of my friends wives. I’m confident this is why she married me.

In my wildest dream Annie and I are both stay at home parents but the kids still go to daycare (4 days a week tho).

I would pay for a social media that harnesses the energy of 2009-2012 twitter. All the sports. Athletes actually responding. Just jokes and friends! Politics were still grown up so we never had to talk about them. The good old days!

If I had a personal chef, that person would be furious at how often they’re wasting their talent making rice krispy treats.

In 2023, we started a project of putting NCAA football team logos over state outlines, because we noticed that Texas teams do this all the time.

We took a break during the season, but we're starting back up again.

Next up, Montana. 1/1

If you wanted to decrease the cost of homes, one thing you wouldn’t do is put a flat tariff on your main source of timber.

Ryan Fetherston’s campaign for Montana Governor in 2036 starts now.
Congresspeople used to physically fight regularly. Loved to call for a dual while on the floor. Part of the reason Southern Democrats held dominion for so long is that they were brawlers. There’s this great story of a tall, broad abolitionist farmer who comes to Congress from Ohio &
I mean at some point you guys just gotta go fist fight him.

Republicans not caring about legal enforceability or cost becoming a weird theme in recent years.
A bill to restrict bathroom use and define sex as strictly male and female passed the Montana House floor on Wednesday on party lines despite concerns about legal enforceability and costs, report dailymontanan.com and statesnewsoom.com.

I was all in on tracking the confirmations and everything in 2017, but I simply don’t have the energy to do it again. I want to call and voice my opinion, but I just know it doesn’t matter to my representatives right now. I hope to feel more rejuvenated in 4 years but I’m not wildly optimistic.
