Two things this week:

Everyone: Please, please help get the African Translation Project seen. I've heard from not a single person this is a bad idea, so can we please talk about it?

Those at Gen Con: Say my name. Say it: Emily Bell. And have the retort ready, "Is it true you wouldn't talk to her?"
July 29, 2025 at 5:30 PM
I’m someone Emily has helped. I am not a published writer, and I’m not currently on that path. Emily has helped me in other ways, such as writing stories that I relate to, publishing works that helped me grow, and speaking out about topics that need to be discussed.
Something else that really hurts me about the Gen Con ban on me specifically, the most critical problem in gaming apparently, is that the people who I was most helpful to there are so often nd, mentally struggling, healing. They are all being ignored by the privileged writers, much more than I am.

Books are education, art, freedom, knowledge, and power. We all deserve access.
Come after stories? They’ll be dealing with @authorsabb.bsky.social and @pubprosabb.bsky.social and that also means ME. #RightToRead #NoKings

And seriously, take us up on the digital pack. A dollar is *totally* fine (I'm the boss and I'm telling you it's fine!), or pay some forward.

If you know Ulla and or me at all, you know we're going to try and make this wonderful and full of surprises.

Anyone who knows me knows that princess parties and I have never been caught in the same county…. Until now! Never late to try something new. Jubilee’s joyful princess party is definitely the best one to start. #JubileeCho #Books #Booksky #Queerauthors #Bookrelease #Indiepress #Transjoy

She left this world at age 25 but her words, her spirit, and the gift of her story walk with us. Please spread the word! #JubileeCho 🎂

Soar, princess, you are free now. Your story will reverberate across the ether and the world.
Beautiful interweaving of adventurous scenes w slice-of-life moments that brought home the message: resisting oppression must come from all sides - from grassroots efforts to direct action to making bigger ripples within policy. - Review: Wishing Well, Wishing Well by Jubilee Cho 💙📚🧚🏽🌈

Wolf, these are the most beautiful words, and they lifted a weight inside of me that I thought I'd put down, but I now see I had not been able to.

She soars. Her story soars. Now I can grieve. A mother's tears.

She wanted to be a storyteller and a princess. Now she is both. And the world sees her.

Thank you to reviewer Mackenzie Ellan: This story was such a refreshing read – a beautiful allegory for the importance of art and the preservation of culture. While this is a middle grade work, I think it would be loved by readers of any age, interest, or gender. www.atthisarts.com/product/wish...

So today an opinion has come out of the woodworks that somehow marginalized voices shouldn't tell stories if their only avenue is small presses. Personally, I have experienced marginalization in many ways, including transgender, ethnic, etc. Without small presses, my stories would not exist.

The wonderful, weird, and powerful collection Wolf's Path by @jolantru.bsky.social will be out on their 50th birthday, in March.

So we thought, on my birthday, we'd have fun and drop the cover, by Mr. Amorn Setthitorn of Chiang Mai, Thailand. We hope you enjoy!
