I thought "Adolescence" was very good, but I also think people have forgotten just how shitty children were to each other long before phones were invented.

There is something hugely revealing in the rage that her kindness has provoked. A real “HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME LOOK AT MYSELF?” vibe. And something immensely powerful in her continuing to show them up, by insisting on being kind. A beam of light piercing through. Great interview, @maddow.msnbc.com.
Incredible from Bishop Budde: "We don't have to go to the highest extremes of contempt when we are in a position of disagreement. I think if we could get that back as a country, we would go a long way in being able to work together to address the many problems that we face." ~AA @maddow.msnbc.com

yeah no, Sandman is an exceptional piece of work. this would all be significantly easier if one had never been moved to tears by the beauty of his writing.
A month or so ago I saw a post by someone saying "we should all admit that Neil Gaiman has always been a shitty writer." That whole knee jerk revisionism. No, man, that's part of the whole horror. He's an internationally recognized writer. Objectively a good writer. But he's also a fucking monster.

Genuinely amazing game setting.
The Wildsea it's a TTRPG in an unusual post apocalyptic setting where the nature took back the land and the humanoids sail the top of the trees on strange vessels. One of the most creative settings in recent years. #ttrpg #rpg #gdr #indierpg @felixisaacs.bsky.social

my going explanation for this is that it is sociological. pundits overwhelmingly live in culturally liberal urban areas where they are constantly exposed to a certain progressive cultural milieu in extremely high concentrations. they feel deep resentment and this is projected onto reactionaries!
Is there a psychoanalytic read for the impetus, seemingly ubiquitous among the US pundit class, to automatically exonerate those on the right from any responsibility for their decisions, viewing them as somehow perpetually besieged and behaving in reaction to a morally oppressive left?

Almost every MP speaking has a personal story in some way: a relative, a friend, medical experience, or even an episode from their own lives.

It is immensely powerful to watch. The level of respect and compassion on both sides is palpable. It does not feel like a normal Commons debate at all
The debate in the Commons on assisted dying feels really finely balanced. Support, energy and good arguments on both sides. Hard to tell which way it’s going to go.

Before & After: I don’t think people realize the extent to which parked cars degrade public space.
