Google boss: "AI is the most profound technology humanity [has ever worked] on"

I think that's more likely to be control of fire. That's vastly more profound.

"Dominant New Zealand crush Wales in Cardiff"

For anyone outside the UK, this is a perfect example of London & England centric journalism.

The Welsh rugby team is on its knees. It's lost almost every game for a couple of years now. New Zealand is consistently one of the best teams in the world...

Doesn't LinkedIn realise Friends was taking the mick out of charitable donations as "gifts" to you 20+ years ago? (The one where Chandler has to make his team work Christmas)

The end of Scream would be rubbish if they'd made it now. Pulling a 32" flat screen down on someone's head is barely even gonna hurt, let alone electrocute them.

Instead of hyping the next Holy Grail of tech, why don't we appreciate the Holy Grail that actually exists? TCP/IP. It's been running solidly for 40+ years, has scaled seamlesssly and is essentially unchanged in all that time. And it underpins all modern tech.

Son has just got out of bath and parked himself up in front of the log burner. There's something really primeval that automatically draws us to fire, even when we have satellites and spaceships and touchscreens.

Baldrick: But this is a sort of a war, isn’t it, sir?

Edmund: Yes, that’s right. You see, there was a tiny flaw in the plan.

George: What was that, sir?

Edmund: It was bollocks.

WTAF Microsoft? Your Wordament game lists "belive" as a rare word (so rare it doesn't exist), but when I suggest "adrenalize" (admittedly the name of a Def Leppard album, but also in the OED) it refuses it.

So according to Netflix the main points of note for the original Scream are: violence and injury detail.

Scream.

One of the funniest but also most graphically violent films I've ever seen. I don't think violence and injury detail really do it justice.

Don't the people who buy bigger and tougher 4x4s/Jeeps/SUVs realise that this "I can inflict more damage on you than you can on me" line of thinking is the same mentality that led to the nuclear arms race?

Just remembered something rather touching about "Asterix in Belgium". Goscinny died halfway through work on it, so for the rest of the book, to mark the exact point of his passing, Uderzo has drawn either rain, or darkened, lowering skies into pretty much every panel.
