I really wish literally everyone talking about I/P internalized this. ISRAEL AND THE SURROUNDING NATION-STATES ARE THE SPLINTERED SUCCESSORS OF AN EMPIRE. IT WAS COMPLETELY FUCKING NORMAL FOR PEOPLE TO EMIGRATE TO DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE REGION, AS NORMAL AS IT IS FOR YOU TO MOVE TO ANOTHER US STATE.
This is like getting mad that someone from Maryland emigrates to New Jersey - they are functionally part of a meaningfully contiguous multicultural space! Movement is normal and natural! These national identities are new & from the perspective of prior eras, basically microidentities!

So, here’s the thing: you don’t need to engage in that sort of conspiracy thinking to support Palestinians. “I don’t think people should be forced out of their homes, dehumanized, and ethnic cleansed” is a perfectly cromulent position all by itself.

“Male loneliness” is kind of the perfect antifeminist complaint, because it articulates the moral logic of patriarchal entitlement very neatly: that men deserve women’s attention, company, devotion, sex, and care, and women should provide these to men even at the cost of their own wellbeing.
Workplace discrimination and harassment, sexual assault, and domestic violence - these very often leave victims desperately lonely but this loneliness somehow never merits discussion as a "crisis"
