UPDATE: Six of the 17 people shot and wounded yesterday at Annunciation Catholic School are in critical condition and fighting for their lives. Of the 17 wounded, three are parishioners over the age of 80 and 14 are children.

Assault weapons are designed to shoot as many people as possible in the shortest amount of time. Our country’s dystopian gun violence crisis is a policy choice made by lawmakers who would rather cower to the gun industry than support basic gun safety measures that save lives.
