If the Senate confirms the wildly unqualified Emil Bove, it will be responsible for the even Trumpier and more lawless Supreme Court for which the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit is potentially but a Bovean stepping stone. He is an antijudge extraordinaire

We fought the good fight from emoluments to impeachment to criminal prosecution but Congress failed us and the Supreme Court has been fully complicit. We must keep invoking the lower courts’ fidelity to law but will need massive political mobilization.

It is actually nuts that even when the NYC political establishment was presented with a broad field of talented candidates w/ many ideas, in a time of generational change & anti-corruption, they STILL chose to line up behind scandal-ridden Andrew Cuomo.

It’s cowardice.

I cannot stress enough how much of a Def Con 1 moment this is. Federal judges fear that the President of the United States will stand down security for judges in retaliation for adverse decisions.

This is such a huge story.
This should be seen as evidence of the crisis: federal judges fear that Trump will order U.S. Marshals to stand down on securing the safety of judges whose decision they don’t like. This is just devastating.

The bottom 60% of US households can’t afford the basic costs of living.

How do Trump and Republicans respond?

Cutting Medicaid, Social Security, and SNAP.

For Trump, tax cuts for billionaires are more important than Americans being able to afford the basics.

I am horrified that Trump is destroying the USA (economically, trade, defense, education, health) and no one in the GOP, who are elected to represent Americans, will lift of finger to save our country. Have they no sense of honor or integrity? Living in the Twilight Zone.

There are principled conservatives. But Supreme Court justices have been selected specifically to filter those out, and pick only the biggest partisan hacks available. That's what we have. There's a psychological need to see these people as responsible parental figures, but it's all projection.
SCOTUS doesn't have pragmatic, principled conservatives now because the goal of the Federalist Society was to find people without independent principles, because that was perceived as the failure of earlier generations of nominees. The justices/judges we get are pre-screened to be hacks.

It seems that Trump wants a recession. Why?

A recession will drive down the prices of real estate, companies, and shares of stock.

Trump and his fellow billionaires want to buy up everything on the cheap and then enjoy the ride upward — no matter the cost to working people.
