The claustrophobic authoritarian nightmare in Terry Gilliam’s ambitious film, Brazil, immediately comes to mind when I witness the cold soullessness lurking throughout this administration. Behind the slogans and symbols is a dark descent into a mad world where those who don't follow are disposable.

I return to my office after lunch and not only do I have the privilege of seeing the statue in the town Square paying tribute to the Confederate soldier, I have this knucklehead parked in front of my window. Aah, the Deep South. These folks are a loud minority, but the TN politicians support them.
