When Tina Turner declared, “We never ever do nothing nice and easy. We always do it nice and rough,” you knew she meant business when you saw her live. Tina is in good company with The Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, Talking Heads, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, The Who, and Faces with Rod Stewart.

I just received word that Dark Winds, Season 3, is nominated for 2 awards. Best Music Supervision in a Television Drama in the 2026 Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. It feels good that this show, which stars Zahn McClarnon, Kiowa Gordon, Deanna Allison, and Jessica Matten, is getting love.

60 Minutes was preempted tonight for something very important: The Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet event. The last thing the trump administration's new propaganda outlet wants to air is a 60 Minutes investigative report about ICE's murder of Renee Good, Venezuela, or the Epstein Files.

It is hard to believe it was ten years ago that David Bowie passed away on January 10, 2016. His final album, Blackstar, was released on January 8th, which was his birthday. This 230th episode of Air-Conditioned is a love letter to one of the most influential artists of the last sixty years.

Thanks to all those with phones who captured this horror. They might have the guns, but your cell phone cameras are the most effect weapon that will bring down trump’s Hate Army, and his regime. it’s a David and Goliath dynamic, and right now cell phone cameras are 1 million slingshots.

It was 25 minutes into the 30-minute CBS Evening News before they mentioned the 5th Anniversary of the trump Insurrection which featured footage of insurrectionists marching and holding banners thanking trump for pardoning them. Amazing! I gave CBS one more chance. They failed miserably.

I think Channel 5 Nashville sets a standard of excellence, but maybe lead investigative reporter Phil Williams needs to investigate those who run the station. We loved Bree Williams' weather reporting and hated to see her go.

This reflection on Katalin Karikó, posted by Kristen Kroll, is an inspiring account of how a person endured great hardship pursuing an idea that has saved millions of lives. When most people would give up, but Karikó and her project partner, Drew Weissman, persisted.

This piece in the Washington Post is particularly rich coming from a newspaper owned and controlled by one of the world's wealthiest men. I wouldn’t miss billionaires anywhere. Many of these people have way too much power and influence.

If this is how things work, then maybe we can have the Russian asset in the Oval Office face “American justice on American soil in American courts.”

A soulful photo of Laurie Anderson and husband Lou Reed (taken by Guido Harari) inspired this 229th episode of my weekly music journey, Air-Conditioned. Along with Laurie and Lou, we also have Brian Eno, Anohni, Kristeen Young, David Bowie, Kronos Quartet, Samora Pinderhughes, and Kate Bush.

Here we have a MAGA nightmare of what will happen when the young, groovy AOC Liberals take back the country.

I saw this film when it came out in the theaters. According to this film, I should’ve tripped the Light Fantastic and been chunked into an old folks' prison. www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7d6...

One of my favorite female singers from the British Isles is Sandy Denny. Her voice possessed the Earth and Sky. This 228th episode of my weekly musical journey, Air-Conditioned, shines some love on her. We’ll hear her with Fairport Convention, Led Zeppelin, and some fine solo demos, along with 1/3

Raul Malo and Joe Ely, two artists I’ve been a fan of for years, passed away this month. Each had a great solo career. Raul was the frontman of The Mavericks, and both were part of a project I was involved in called Los Super 7. This episode of Air-Conditioned shines some love their way.

Joe Ely passed away today at his home in Taos, New Mexico. I was listening to his music this afternoon, before I heard this news. He was such a thoughtful, kind-spirited man, and his music had fans from Springsteen to The Clash.

Rob Reiner made some of my favorite movies. Tonight, it’s The Princess Bride. I always loved Mark Knopfler's score in The Princess Bride. There are so many quotable lines. Don't forget: “Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”

Vanity Fair listed Episode 6 "Ábidoo'niidę́ę́ (What We Had Been Told)” of Dark Winds, Season 3 one of the best TV episodes of 2025. Writers Max Hurwitz, Billy Luther, and director Erica Tremblay did a beautiful job taking the show to new heights. I love music supervising this show.

Trump may think he’s ingratiating himself to Democrats, but this pardon is one more example that Crooks run with Crooks. By the way, I don’t care how many Democrats are in the Epstein files, anyone who has proven to be guilty should serve a sentence, regardless of their political leanings.

This week’s episode of Air-Conditioned shines the light on rock between 1967 and 1970. It was a musically rich time, and you can hear it in these fine tracks by Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, Cream, Allman Brothers, Steppenwolf, Blind Faith, Led Zeppelin, James Gang, and Derek & The Dominos. 1/2

I remember standing in a Memphis department store, Goldsmiths, in the area where televisions were sold. There was a wall of these TVs, and dozens of adults watching the Kennedy funeral, and John F. Kennedy Jr. saluted as the casket passed. Dozens of adults around me wept. 1/2
