Good morning! Truly a good morning! I would like to add one election outcome that will probably be overlooked, but one that is very encouraging. Mississippi, a state with a long history of voter suppression, particularly the Black population, had very good election results for Democrats.

Thanks to my friend, Deryle, for sharing this. It's great to see all the enthusiasm for this show. It is gratifying to be a part of this production.

Why ‘Dark Winds’ Is A Perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes Scored Netflix Show
Netflix’s Navajo noir Dark Winds has won plaudits for its riveting supernatural storyline but it is also reeling in the returns in a way many other productions can't match.

Tonight’s 60 Minutes opening segment featured Norah O'Donnell interviewing the self-important con artist currently in the gilded Oval Office. Thankfully, this wasn't a capitulation to trump, as the segment only succeeded in allowing his lack of self-awareness to strut his massive character flaws.

As payrolls for government employees have been stopped and SNAP benefits are being cut off (affecting tens of millions of people), not to mention the fact that Health Insurance premiums are skyrocketing, it is worth noting that Republicans continue paying ICE. Ponder that.

Anne Applebaum "Modern authoritarian propaganda, of the kind we are about to receive from the Pentagon and perhaps other government agencies, isn’t designed to produce true believers or mass movements. It’s designed to produce apathy." Check out this article.

Watching trump’s desecration of the White House is heartbreaking. He does whatever he wants, and no one stops him, certainly the Republican Party. The system of checks and balances has been dismantled enough that his raging ego can run amouk.

Today is my Sweetie's birthday and she curated this episode. The result is a really groovin’ feel-good show. Along with Sam & Dave, she selected some great tracks by Aretha Franklin, the Rolling Stones, Lou Ann Barton, Olu Dara, Etta James, Tom Waits, Tito Puente, Otis Redding, and Carla Thomas.

Never in my life did I think we'd have such a dangerous person in the Oval Office, but trump didn't hold back when he told the gathered American military, “I told Pete we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military.”

When John Oliver mentions there are "chilling precedents happening all over the world right now," the first thing that came to mind was Anne Applebaum's impressive book Autocracy, Inc. I don't believe trump is only a Russian asset. The corruption is far deeper.
OLIVER: “In Russia, when Putin rose to power, TV satirists were among his first targets… Putin was driven to madness by how he was mocked on a puppet show… the lesson is it’s not safe to let one show slide because there are currently others.”

Kimmel’s taken off the air!! Follow the money. This is the raw ugly reality of unfettered deregulated Capitalism. These CEO fuckers will crawl up trump’s ass to advance their bottom line. Meanwhile, treat yourself to watching Paddy Cayefsky’s brilliant 1976 film Network.

Robert Redford has passed away. besides being one of the great actors of American cinema, starring in films like All the President’s Men, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, The Natural, The Way We Were, The Candidate and his great performance All Is Lost among many other film classics.

This sums my feelings about Kirk. The right of free speech came at a great price, but we are responsible for our words and those who incite violence or cruelty need to be immediately called out publicly. Kirk was a verbal bomb thrower dressed in White Christian Nationalist privilege.

They should run the entire event on live TV. I remember when network television would air an empty stage for 30 minutes waiting for him to yammer his nonsense. Airing this event live might be a small atonement for all of their shitty trump coverage over the years.
