I got an alert about potential aurora, so I went out with my camera but nothing doing. No sign of them, and the nearly full moon would probably obscure them anyway. Here’s the moon over the Stray in Harrogate instead. #photography

The trees suggest we’re pretty much in winter now. #photography

Andromeda galaxy. This was a single 40s exposure so the disc is quite faint, but the two satellite galaxies can be seen. #astrophotography

Above the galaxy is a smaller fuzzy glow which is another galaxy. Just below is an even smaller fuzzy glow, which is another galaxy.

Another clear night, so I managed to get some photos of Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) in the skies over Harrogate. It was low in the north west, just above the tree tops, just before 8pm. Interesting to see some structure in the tail and a definite greenish glow around the comet. #astrophotography #comet
