Lee Moor House, Dartmoor. Originally owned by China clay merchant Reginald Martin, it later served as offices for English China Clays Ltd. The photo was taken in 1983 prior to its demolition.

"The Nunnery" army married quarters in Alderney which housed SNCOs of the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry from 1924-27. Images from c1924 and 2023. Structure in front is German bunker from the Nazi occupation.

Hero of Waterloo, Baron Seaton, Sir John Colborne. His statue once stood at Seaton Barracks, Plymouth. It now stands in Winchester adjacent to the Rifles Museum.

Seen at Kilmurry Independence Museum: remnants of Crossley tender(s) from Kilmichael ambush. At least one of the tenders was just 3 months old when destroyed as evident from manufacturer's plate.

John Gooding AKA Frank Harding, career criminal and hapless secret agent was born 1868 in Devonport. In 1920 he embarked on a failed mission to entrap Irish revolutionary Michael Collins. In 21 Nov 1899, Harding was reported in the Devon Evening Express to have committed bigamy.
