The whole thread is great, but yeah I think this nails the Oilers problem.
it seems like they shifted their entire team philosophy - the one that got them to back-to-back Cup Finals including a one-goal game 7 loss in 2024 - to insulate Stuart Skinner and it's completely blowing up in their face.

The whole thread is great, but yeah I think this nails the Oilers problem.
This is a great summation of what I'm seeing a lot of the smart Oilers writers concluding.
I've been saying it for a while. Coach Knob is pushing the "beat Florida" system, but this team is not built for it. This is a speed & skill team playing dump and chase hockey. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that it was Gullys fault, but he's gone now and the problem is worse.
