Please stop with the whole "they are doing jobs Americans won't do" crap. It's not helping.

Immigrants are real people and not a group we can collectively agree to exploit by paying low wages for their manual labor.

Thanks. ✌🏼

It’s a recalibration of economic control.

Oligarchs don’t live paycheck to paycheck. They have the capital to buy market dips and recoup faster, acquiring more assets at fire sale prices along the way.

When the dust finally settles, they will own more.

The rest of us will own less. A lot less.

Just a legal historian here reminding everyone that “high crimes and misdemeanors” do not need to be felonies.

They can include political abuses and stupidity, like, hypothetically, destroying the economy and wiping out people’s savings in 3 days.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Lol (though it is an acronym)
Cegep is a great example of how Quebec is strange. Is it high school? Yes. Is it community college? Yes. Is it undergrad? Yes. Do they do it that way in the rest of Canada? No. Do they do it that way in France? No. Is cegep a word in French? No. Is it an acronym? No.

What a way to discount the price of assets only to be gobbled up by private equity or bigger fish. That increases their market share. Increases their profits by laying off workers and cutting costs. Increases their power to use government to pass legislation to benefit them at the expense of us
Breaking news: Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq sustain heavy losses a day after President Donald Trump declined to rule out the possibility of a recession. Trump said that it will take “a little time” before Americans see a payoff from his policies.

The social infrastructure is exactly what Trump is dismantling. The disintegration of government is a big part of that
When ppl say they want small government they really want to take benefits away from other people they deem inferior
Governing in 🇨🇦 is always always a tightrope walk. 🇨🇦 is one of the most foreign and corporate controlled democracies in the world. Navigating keeping & implemented needed social infrastructure within a hostile environment to such a thing, requires a lot. The proof will be in how the bottom 1/2 fares

This is what the Nazis did as well. Mass privatization (though in an era where they had far more public entities) created an even richer bourgeoisie who was loyal to the regime.

They're following that playbook.
