I came here to vent about politics and be distracted from venting about politics by things that bring me joy

Thank you Ryoko Kui and SungWon Cho for giving me a character to voice my inner monologue and cajole myself into eating food and taking care of myself while sick, thank you Senshi from Dunmeshi 😭

Not to be greedy but I wish there were like. Pet hang out pods at airports. In addition to the “pet relief room”. Because Junebug wouldn’t eat her dinner around the weird smells and we have a longer layover than I thought.

I understand this is a tall order, but to be fair, she deserves the best

Alright folks. Time to brush up on the anti-war chants… again.

Here are a few to start:

Hey hey, ho ho!
This racist war has got to go!

War brings no glory
Venezuela’s not our territory!

No more lining pockets of the corporations,
Fighting wars with smaller nations!

Question for people who use screen readers: would you use a screen reader tool that auto-tunes the voice to your music library?

Every time I test screen reader accessibility I think how nice it would be to play music, but I don’t know if it would be too much.

Could UI designers please stop obsessing over making things sleek and start prioritizing customization and findability?

I don’t need the site to be “sleek” I need it to have buttons that do what I want

Question for airlines: if I upgrade to first class or Legroom Plus or whatever can I have my cat on my lap (in her carrier)

Because she will cry constantly if she’s not on my lap and I’m willing to pay extra for her comfort but if you’re going to try to stop me then there’s really no point

Republicans felt so strongly that 15 million Americans shouldn’t have health care that they shut down the government.

Why is Democratic messaging so abysmal?? Stop trying to make rational points, unironically you will not win that way

“Republicans can’t get organized.”
“They think they can steamroll us, but we still represent half the country.”
“They’re acting like children and refusing to talk, as always.”

Cold take, tech CEOs like AI because they like suck-ups and feeling like the smartest person in the room and the proportion of neurodiverse people in the tech industry, plus younger generations’ low tolerance for authority, makes that harder to find.

Controversial opinion apparently but it should be ok to not like people and think they’re bad. And if they do die, recognizing that they sucked doesn’t equate to celebrating their death or encouraging political violence.

This is just an excuse for state suppression and eventually more violence.

See, this is the kinda BS they do just to get us riled up, and subsequently sound out of touch and like we don’t have our priorities straight.

Let’s be clear: this is dumb. It’s completely in-character. It changes nothing except tone.

Release the files, etc.

I wish I knew what to DO about this. Like. How do you tell judges what you think? I don’t imagine they take public comment in the same way as elected officials have to

Unrelated but have you heard about this “bronze disease” phenomenon where chlorides coming into contact with bronze will cause ongoing deterioration thats super hard to fix? Science is crazy!

Anyway, what were we talking about?
There is no non-racist argument for this. Hell, there is no non-treasonous argument for this. Why are we putting up statues of people who were traitors to the country?

Ridiculous. Also clearly engineered to get a rise out of us. Ugh.

I’ve been saying this (without empirical evidence) and I think we’re likely to see more research come out to the same tune.

I think over reliance on LLMs will lead to cognitive deterioration and worse learning outcomes long-term. This is one of the first pieces of evidence

God bless Mamdani. Every time that man is asked about how little support he’s getting from Dems, all the racism, all the doubt, he just responds with the most sincere patience and gratitude for the support he *has* gotten. So extremely refreshing tbh.

Idk how he does it though, I’d be annoyed af
