I am not going to be posting on Facebook, except for funny things. I want to fly more "under the radar." As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community (and therefore potentially in the crosshairs of Trump and his minions), I want to be a little less visible to the powers that be. That said, I want to share with you what Robert Reich posted this afternoon.

A question was asked to me about Birthright citizenship. I thought I’d share what I told my friend. It falls under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. It has long been held to apply regardless of citizenship. Only a Constitutional Amendment can change this. No a presidential executive order. Here is a good summary of the why behind the what. This morning I have made six phone calls: two to the offices of my senator and two to the offices of my representatives requesting that Elon Musk’s illegal activities be put to an end. Mr. Musk is an un-elected official operating without congressional approval. He and is operatives have illegally taken over the US Treasury and has gained access to classified information for which he has no security clearance.

A most interesting reflection on authoritarian leadership, from a wise pastoral leader, Rev. Langdon Hubbard: “I have spent the past few weeks reading and studying Adolph Hitler's autobiography, "Mein Kampf," which is translated as "My Struggle." He began writing it in 1923 when he was in prison for "high treason." His sentence was for 5 years. His book was first published in 1926, and was no longer allowed to be published in Germany after WWII until 2016.

After January 6, 2021 a few of my friends and/or acquaintances suggested that I was “panicking “ for no reason. That I had no reason to fear Trump or his cronies.Well - I was right to panic.In less than a week the Trump Administration has come for undocumented immigrants (by rousting those that look like they might be undocumented) as well as for the trans community (in too many ways to list).
