Like many modern writers I have two jobs, the creative one and the one that pays rent. I was unexpectedly and suddenly fired last week, after 5 years building a team. feels like the rug's been pulled out from underneath me 😞 Open to advice on how to refocus creatively while job hunting! ❤️

Finally reached the stage of slashing entire chapters and killing off characters, truly it is a bloodthirsty process and pleasure
I love nothing more than taking a shitty, bloated, unfocused first draft and hacking it right down. Truly, the scissors are the writer's most powerful tool.

On the topic of AI and GPT, I so often hear friends and colleagues rave about things like translations and finding information -- so now I'm wondering, if not everyone was using tools like Google Translate and search engines before, in which case I totally see how it all seems super exciting now?!

Every year because of my non-creativewriting job, I attend Formnext, a huge tech exhibition in Frankfurt, and every year I am overwhelmed by how male, how bro, how white it is. So every year I wear my most colourful skirts and bring my baddest brown grrrl vibes. Here's this year 😘

In a bus from Luxembourg to Germany, a very short trip away, and at the border the German police are on the bus checking our documents. I knew this was happening but seeing it in action feels surreal. So much for Schengen, huh?

Can't really believe it but a story I submitted for a book in the France-Germany-Luxembourg region where I live was selected to be in a book, and the soft launch is today! Wish me luck as I read my words and try not to cry! #writers

Just did this! Super easy transfer from Goodreads to StoryGraph
Goodreads is owned by Jeff Bezos. A better alternative is StoryGraph, a Black woman-owned platform. And before y’all start, you can transfer all your Goodreads data to Storygraph so you literally have no excuse.
