I suppose it's something of a comfort to know that that the simple act of getting an Uber from the airport is just as confusing and poorly signposted in Melbourne as in Sydney.

I've decided in 2025 I will (try to) stop listening to playlists and return to albums so listened to Chappell Roan's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess for the first time and jfc my brain has exploded and my heart has grown three sizes and I can't stop listening to it, it's so so so good.

Ignoring all the advice, limiting all the debate, shoving it through on the very last day of Parliament. Oh and by the way, States and Territories can decide that kids too young for Instagram are old enough to go to prison.

This was one of the most gruelling weeks of my professional life, and for it to culminate in this has devastated me. But we will keep working, keep lobbying, keep advocating for refugees and people seeking protection. We won't ever stop.
