Voters thought they could irresponsibly vote Trump and the make you, the resist-lib, do all the labor to protect them from the consequences of their decision.

And this time, we will not.
No one could’ve predicted that Trump would so many of the things that he said he would do.

The "mainstream media" is distraught that they aren't getting the windfall of resist-lib subscriptions clicks and views they expected.

In fact, people are abandoning them.

CNN's primetime audience declined 42% to 427,000
MSNBC's viewership dropped 63% in the key 25-54 demo

Good, fuck em!

Well, there's another popular tale.

"No matter how long the arm of the Alliance might get... we'll just get ourselves a little further."

@kenwhite.bsky.social while Trump could pardon the DOGE teens from criminal accountability, seems they're creating wild civil legal exposure for themselves? For example if their "move fast and break things" approach to handling sensitive data results in negligently leaking social security numbers.

The actual insurrection was the fake electors plot and the 139 house Republicans who voted to decertify the 2020 election.

The critical mistake Democrats and the nation made was allowing these people to be unaccountable and deflecting blame by recasting the insurrection as just a riot.
"guy who had and then tried to hide a phone call with Vladimir Putin tried to access a SCIF at a federal building" is usually 'they shoot you' kind of shit but the traitors are running the country now so

Mtsw is the only account that sees things clearly. While everyone else is talking about "marching" the real play is to retrench behind the defense provided by federalism.

And biggest impediment to that is the 5th column of MAGA police unions.
free hint to blue state govs: automatically offer jobs in your own state's security services to the various cops, prosecutors and armed forces members that trump is unfairly drumming out. you will need people with guns who hate trump for what is coming next, and... there they are

There's too much politics on this app.

It isn't Dems are choosing to let voters learn by touching the stove. It's that voters have given MAGA Republicans such insane amounts of power that they have already touched the hot stove. What's happening for the next few years is just waiting for the pain to travel up to the voter's brains.
Legacy media and as a consequence a large swath of the public refuses to engage with how insane the GOP actually is and expects the Dems to be the bipartisan adults in the room and curtail the GOP's worst impulses and the easiest way to "fix" this is to just let them touch the stove

They aren't relitigating the 2016 primary. They're reliving the best moment of their lives.

When you read some Bernie bro tweet just stick the phrase "back in my day" in front of it.

"landowning millionaires who make it illiegal to build shelter for others so they can increase their own profits are not capitalists - the immigrant laborers building new homes for Gen Z are the evil capitalists" is an underrated factor explaining why Gen Z rejects progressivism and votes Republican
learning today from Bluesky dot com that neoliberalism is when you support allowing multifamily construction and the more you support allowing multifamily construction the more neoliberaler it is

"This marginalized group was mean online" is going to be the Trojan horse excuse for all sorts of discrimination in the future.

Anyone insinuating that "people being mean online" is an excuse to discriminate against an entire group needs to be called out for their prejudice immediately.
We then get to the tedious, tuneless ballad of reactionary centrist op-eds everywhere: This Marginalized Group Is Mean Online.

The unwritten rule that Trump discovered is that any appearance of impropriety must be censured fully and immediately. But any unrepentant persistent actual impropriety must be excused and ignored.
every successful revolution finds itself kicking in a rotten door and man, was "norms-based, rule-following liberalism" rotten

D.O.G.E. is so much more genius than I gave Republicans credit for. What do you do when you're a politician for a government that is running a $2 trillion deficit and your billionaire donors knock on your door demanding tax cuts? Apparently, just turn to them say "go figure it out yourself!"

I've never joined a single Twitter alternative in over 1 decade. But things have become so disgusting over there that I'm going to give this place a try.

If you know me from the other place, shouts out to ya.
