The Right's Secret Plan to Help Billionaires Buy Elections
J.D. Vance and other MAGA interests are working to get the Supreme Court to end restrictions on campaign-spending limits.

“The Montana initiative proposes to simply use that authority to change the law — in this case, to no longer grant corporations the power to spend on elections. If passed in Montana — and if other states follow — the initiative could profoundly change American politics.”

Don’t vote yes without guaranteed ACA subsidies!
Text SIGN PYUMEP to 50409 — Do not vote for any bill that agrees only to a future vote on healthcare subsidies! That would make last week’s wins and the weeks without pay be all for nothing! This is personal for my family. My spouse works for the FAA an essential worker who has been showing up and working hard since this all began. Our daughter gets her health insurance through the ACA. Without expanded subsidies her insurance will cost as much as her rent. Completely unaffordable.
Hold out for a bill that funds the government with along with funding for healthcare subsidies. Not just some future thing they will never bring up for a vote. Hold out!!!

Republican Promises Are Empty — Don’t Let Them Trade Away Our Healthcare Again
Text SIGN PFPXLI to 50409 — Once again, Republicans are demanding that the American people trust their word — and once again, that word is worthless.
After forty days of chaos and hardship, the so-called “deal” to reopen the government offers nothing but empty promises. The GOP has agreed only to allow a future vote on extending Affordable Care Act premium subsidies — with no guarantee of passage, no commitment from the House, and no enforcement mechanism.
That’s not a concession; it’s a con.
Republicans caused this shutdown by holding the country hostage — cutting off paychecks, freezing food benefits, halting air travel, and inflicting needless suffering — all to force Democrats to reopen the government on their terms. And what did they offer in return?
• A “promise” of a vote they plan to block.
• A “guarantee” of back pay that’s already required by law.
• A few appropriations bills the Senate is constitutionally obligated to pass anyway.
Meanwhile, their budget still guts SNAP, veterans’ programs, and the ACA subsidies that keep tens of millions insured. If those subsidies expire, average premiums will jump 114%, from about $888 to $1,900 a year — pushing millions of working families off coverage entirely.
Republicans have perfected a cycle of hostage politics: cause a crisis, promise to fix it later, then walk away once the damage is done. Each time, Americans are left holding the bag. This isn’t compromise — it’s coercion.
I’m urging you to reject this deal unless it includes a binding, bipartisan extension of the ACA premium tax credits. Congress must stop rewarding bad-faith tactics with political victories. Every time we give in, it teaches them that cruelty works.
The American people are exhausted by performative politics. We deserve leadership that delivers results — not more “trust me” promises from a party that has broken every one.
Please hold firm. Protect healthcare, defend workers, and refuse to reopen government on a foundation of lies.

There are apparently enough other cowardly Democratic Senators' willing to help pass the bill, which is a mirage of meaningless promises.
Those illusory promises include (a) a "certain-to-fail' vote to extend healthcare subsidies,

Fight for all Americans: do not cave on the shutdown!
Text SIGN PZBDFP to 50409 — Do not agree to reopen the government without major concessions on the ACA subsidies and SNAP backpayments. If any of your Democratic Party colleagues are considering reopening the government, please ensure they know that doing so will not achieve your policy goals, will squander the momentum that progressives have built these last few weeks, and will alienate voters who have stood by the Democratic Party and given you cover to fight for the American people.
The government shutdown has caused harm to so many of us. It continues to wreak havoc across the country, and the pain is likely to increase until this is all over. But it pales into insignificance compared to the pain and anger that will result from caving to the Trump administration’s wishes now. The majority of the country understands that the shutdown was caused and is being perpetuated by the Republican Party as a whole, headed by a figure whose incompetence you are laying bare for all to see clearly.
The country needs you and the Democratic Party to stand strong for healthcare, food assistance, and restitution of the harms inflicted by HR1.
You must fight for the majority of Americans who need you to push back against the Trump regime’s willful cruelty and incompetence. Do not back down. Do not cave.

Text SIGN PIEUGL to 50409 — I hope you saw Trump's social media post where he admitted the shutdown led to a bloodbath for Republicans. Given his statement, this should at an absolute minimum lead Dem Senators to shelve any plan to prematurely cave.
Trump is admitting he and the GOP are in a weak position. I hope you will stand strong and exploit this!
Republicans are saying, in essence, "If you won't let us take away your healthcare, we won't let you eat." They can't get away with this.
